WWE has Southpaw Regional Wrestling,Modern Vintage Studios has Animated Wrestling Incorperated.

Animated Wrestling Incorperated (AWI) is a fictional professional wrestling promotion based in Staten Island and broadcast on Public Access TV. AWI is a (sometimes over exadurated) parody of 80's and 90's Cartoony Wrestling.

Animated Wrestling Inc. debut in March of 1987 and shut down September of 1998. Being a Public Access show (and a public access show only),AWI was low-budget,but it made due with what it had. Because the budget was so low,The AWI could only hold 2 shows a month. Each show was an hour long,though the specials were 2 hours.

The concept of the series is that an Unknown Dude discovered some old tapes of the long-lost (and forgotten) promotion,while digging through a box of old VHS tapes that he found. There were 2 tapes in total. One tape contained content from 1995,the other had content from 1997 and 1998.

Latar,a 3rd tape was found containing content from 1992.

Content from '87,'88,'89,'90,'91,'93,'94,or '96 have yet to be found. AWI is not on Youtube or any other Video site. Infact,footage from this lost (and not very well known) promotion can only be found on these tapes.

Malcomania  - An over-the-top Hulk Hogan expy. Always stands for Country,God,and The 3 Demandments: Say Your Prayers,Believe In Yourself,And Drink Your Milk. Says "Dude" alot.

Herc-Man - An over-the-top Conan the Barbarian/He-Man expy.

The Reaper - A grim reaper that rarely speaks,but when he does,he has deep voice.

Mortician Addams - an over-the-top mortician who sounds like Boris Koloff. Manager of The Reaper.

Heavy Hal - An evil over-the-top Fat Albert. Goes "Yo!Yo!Yo!" instead of Hey!Hey!Hey!

Uptown Brutus - A Harvey Whippleman expy. Manager of Heavy Hal.

"Sane Man' Brad Heartland - An expy of Bret Hart from Texas. He's a serious wrestler,who sometimes questions the sanity of the company.

The Bikers - Prototypical Bikers. Rider Michaels is the cocky-cool dude,while Roadie Jannetty is the dim-witted thug type. This team eventually breaks up and persues singles careers. While Roadie's goes nowhere,Rider is much more successful becoming an expy of The Fonz nicknamed The Ride.

The Einsteiners - Haim and,his brother,Shuki over-the-top Albert Einstein expies. Haim later becomes The Roidenator.

Bayou Barons - Zanetti and Zulu are Voodoo Whichdocters,very over-the-top Whichdoctors. They love causing pain with tbeir spells and curses.

The Cell Blockers - Convict-based team. They are Stabber Lee and Robing Rob.

Chico Fernandez - Name dropped.

The Sumoan - Name dropped.

Witch Wanda - Name dropped.

Elle Rae Duke - A crazy Barefooting Hillbilly. Loves her rifles.

Power Princess - A She-Ra type. A stereotypical American Cartoon Heroine.

IRS Iris - An evil taxwoman. Wrestles in a business suit.

Presto - An evil magician with a nasty sense of humor. He's a Magician version of Doink. Becomes nicer in 1994..though he's played by a different guy.

"The Wise Guy" Ray Maccio - A wise guy from brooklyn. Similar personality to Razor Ramon.

Sho Gunn - A Japanese Man who thinks he's a cowboy.

Memphis - An over-the-top Elvis Impersonator. He's also a Commentator.

Mack Trucker - A Truck Driver with some attitude.

Wayne Heartland - Brad Heartland's younger,more wacky wild,brother.

Flex Howitzer - A steryotypical musclebound American Patriot.

"The Real Canadian" Danny Lund - A stereotypical Canadian,who's a Canadian patriot.

Shoto - A rip-off of Ryu from Street Fighter.

Nashville - An over-the-top egotistical wanna-be Country singer.

"The Ride" Rider Michaels - Former member of The Bikers. Is a Fonz expy.

Dexter "The Nerd" Poindexter - A Steve Urkle expy.

Axel Greace - An over-the-top Rocker.

Double Dregs - Post-Apocolyptic Street Guys. They are Ozzy and Slash.

Jarvis and Bone-head - Over-the-top Beavis and Butt-head expies.

Club Sonic - Tommy and Eric are 2 over-the-top Sega Genesis fanatics.

DJ Cool Clarence and The Freshest King - DJ Clarence and Freshest King Thurgood are early 90's-style rappin' wrestlers.

Sgt. Sonya - An over-the-top military commander.

The Wrestle Rangers - 5 stereotypical 90's kid tv youth are the Wrestle Rangers,Power Ranger rip-offs. Austin the Red Ranger,Walter the Black Ranger,David the Blue Ranger,Thuy the Yellow Ranger,and Amy Jo the Pink Ranger.

Big Bertha - A large angry Black Woman.

"The Ramblin' Redneck" Mike Dallas - An often-times angry Redneck from Texas who always rambles/babbles incoherently. No one can understand a word he says.

Maniac Mick - A psychotic individual who likes to cause pain. Lives in basements and boiler rooms.

Cory Runner - A Native American Chuck Norris type. The token Mr. Justice,beats up heel wrestlers when they do something wrong.

Ryan Clover - A perpetually pissed MMA guy.

Mason Domination - An over-the-top Black Power Leader. Always overdoes it with his speeches.

Los Super Banditos - Juan and Esteban are 2 over-the-top Thugs.

The Grungers - 2 over-the-top Grunge Rockers. They are Rip and Noize.

The Hell-Billys - Name dropped.

The Marsh Family - Swampy and Stinky Marsh are rough-tough Bayou Backwoodsmen with a nasty attitude and a love for fighting.

The Ultimate World Order (uWo)- An over-the-top NWO expy who wants to take over AWI and PTV. The members consist of Broadway Malcomania (malcomania,now a singing,dancing bad guy),Mack Trucker,"The Wise Guy" Ray Maccio,and "The Ride" Rider Michaels.

She-Na La - A Jungle Themed Warrior Woman.

The Warrior Queen - A Xena expy.

The Sailor Team - 4 Sailor Scout expies,each with their own color. Sailor White is the brave leader,Sailor Blue is the brains,Sailor Red is the tough girl and hothead,and Sailor Green is the sexy airhead.

Bezerkette - A cute timid lady,who turns into a psychotic vicious fighting machine when provoked.

"The Roidenator" Haim Einsteiner - Steroids have turned this intellegent wrestler into a jacked up dummy with a big mouth and a nasty temper. (actually he isn't roided up,he's just wearing a shirt and pants that makes him look extremely buff)

Damnation - A Horror inspired wrestler. You never know when he's gonna strike.
